  • MB Gallery presents contemporary art with a strong connection to culture, place and storytelling. Dr. Muna Balfaqeeh's practice includes oil painting, mixed media and works created on reclaimed Emirati heritage doors, alongside accessible prints and cultural products.

  • Emirati culture is central to much of MB Gallery's artistic identity. Her collections are informed by research and documentation rather than simply recreating images of the past.

BUYING & COLLECTING ART

  • Original art can be purchased through galleries, artists, exhibitions and online art platforms across the UAE. MB Gallery offers original artworks by Emirati artist Dr. Muna Balfaqeeh, with pieces available across different collections, subjects and price points. You can explore available artworks online or contact us for help finding a piece that suits your space and preferences.

  • Start by looking for clear information about the artist, medium, dimensions, price and authenticity of the work. At MB Gallery, available artworks and products can be explored online, while higher-value works can also be discussed directly with us before purchasing. If you are unsure where to begin, we can help you find the right piece.

Current art marketplaces make authenticity, dimensions, framing, packaging, shipping and returns prominent because these are important considerations for online art buyers.

  • Start with the art you genuinely connect with rather than trying to match every colour in the room. Then consider the scale of the wall, existing furniture, lighting and the atmosphere you want the space to have. A meaningful artwork can become the starting point for a room rather than simply its final decoration.

Current searches around choosing art repeatedly centre on scale, colour, space, emotional connection and relationship to the interior

  • Consider both the dimensions of the wall and the furniture around it. Large walls can often carry a strong statement piece, while smaller spaces may work better with a more intimate artwork or a considered group of pieces. Before purchasing, measure the available wall space and consider how much breathing room you want around the artwork

  • Either approach can work, but choosing a meaningful artwork early can give the room a visual anchor. Its colours, mood and scale can then help inform other interior choices. If your room is already furnished, choose art that creates a relationship with the space without feeling that it has to perfectly match it.

  • An original artwork is the unique work created by the artist. A print is a reproduction or edition derived from an original image or artwork. Both can have a place in a collection: originals offer the experience of owning a unique work, while prints can make an artist's work more accessible.

This question fits MB Gallery particularly well because your Strategy deliberately offers both originals and accessible prints rather than positioning one as inherently “better.”

  • Purchase from the artist, gallery or a trusted representative and look for clear documentation of the artwork's title, artist, medium and dimensions. Where applicable, a Certificate of Authenticity provides additional documentation connecting the work to its artist and provenance.

Certificates commonly identify information such as the creator, title, creation details, dimensions and authentication information.

  • Yes. Original artworks purchased from MB Gallery come with a Certificate of Authenticity, providing documentation of the artwork and its authenticity.

DR. MUNA'S ART & EMIRATI HERITAGE

  • Dr. Muna Balfaqeeh is an Emirati visual artist whose practice explores Emirati heritage, cultural memory, identity, preservation and transformation. Her work combines research and documentation with contemporary visual interpretation across oil painting, mixed media and other materials.

  • Her work returns to Emirati heritage not simply from nostalgia, but from a desire to preserve and reinterpret stories that form part of cultural memory. Each collection begins with research and documentation, allowing historical and cultural subjects to be understood before they are transformed through a contemporary artistic language.

  • The Doors of the Emirates collection transforms reclaimed wooden doors into works of art. Dr. Muna paints directly onto doors that already carry the marks of age and use, preserving their textures, scratches and carved details as part of the artwork. The doors become both the surface of the work and carriers of cultural memory.

COMMISSIONS & ART ADVISORY

  • A commission begins with understanding what you are looking for, including the intended space, preferred scale, concept and timeframe. Once the artistic direction and scope are agreed, the commission requirements, price, timeline and delivery arrangements are confirmed before work begins.
